"Heterosis" is a term used in genetics and selective breeding. The term heterosis, also known as hybrid vigor, the increased strength of different characteristics in hybrids:the possibility to obtain a "better" individual by combining the virtues of its parents.

Research shows that composite cattle are more productive, efficient and healthy than their purebred counterparts. This not onl boosts productivity of a farm or ranch, it also reduces costs associated with managing a cow herd.
